This course views spirituality as a central dimension of human life and faith communities as both potential resources and potential barriers to accomplishing social work's purposes. Learners develop knowledge and skills essential to becoming effective in social work practice linked with faith communities. Case studies and exercises emphasize relationships between dominant religious groups, diverse spiritualities, and marginalized persons, as well as the role that faith communities play in social movements.
