SW-638: Health-Related Social Work
1-3 credit hours
Learners develop a framework for empowering practice in the health care arena. Course exercises and case studies highlight human diversity in health behaviors and health policies relevant to the lives of vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities. Learners also work with the organizational environment and interdisciplinary nature of health-related practice. This course includes an HIV/AIDS unit to meet Kentucky social work licensure requirements in accordance with KRS 214.610.
