CJR-310: Police Reform

This course will introduce, examine, and provide students the skills with which to analyze police reform. This course will emphasize a conceptual approach rather than a statistical focus to studying the creation, implementation, and evaluation of police reform. Topics may include accountability and transparency, excessive use of force and de-escalation policies, police corruption, search and seizure, broken window policing, inadequate training, implicit bias training, community policing, school safety, police militarization, officer wellness, recruitment and retention and more. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
