PSY-765: Relational Systems of Psychotherapy

This course provides a review of the historical, contemporaneous, theoretical, and empirical rationales of relationally oriented conceptualizations and treatments. The evidence basis for particular interventions with specific populations will be explored. Attachment theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Brief Psychodynamic Therapy will be emphasized, with a focus on the use of the therapeutic relationship and therapeutic process as mechanisms of change.
