PSY-811: Psychopharmacology

Building upon the biopsychosocial model of human behaviour this course examines the pharmacological impact of drugs on neuronal function with a particular emphasis on alterations in behavioural states. The medications currently used to treat psychological problems/mental disorders are reviewed including indications/contra-indications, benefits and side effects. The ways in which medications can be used in conjunction with psychological treatments will also be discussed utilizing specific clinical cases.
