This practice immersion experience provides an opportunity for further synthesis and expansion of the learning developed throughout the DNP program. These highly complex experiences are designed to provide systematic opportunities for feedback and reflection. It affords the opportunity to integrate and synthesize the essentials of DNP education to demonstrate competency in the specialized area of practice. Proficiency may be acquired through a variety of methods, such as attaining case requirements, patient or practice contact hours, completing specified procedures, demonstrating experiential competencies, or a combination of these elements. Precepted practicum hours are required and are dependent on individual student needs to meet the necessary 1000 post baccalaureate practicum hours required to complete the DNP program.
