Introduces basic tenets of occupational therapy; exploring theories, concepts, values, history, and service delivery models of the occupational therapy profession as a basis for the student's orientation to the educational program. Students will articulate an understanding of the history and philosophical base of the profession of occupational therapy as an outcome of the course. Demonstration of task analysis in areas of occupation, performance skills, performance patterns, activity demands, context(s), and client factors will occur through experiential learning activities and provide the basis for attaining the conceptual knowledge of occupation and occupational therapy.
