After successfully completing ENG-654, students wishing to extend their enriched independent study over two
semesters, begin ENG-655: Extended Writing Enrichment, the second part of the enriched independent study.
The student, who typically studies with the same mentor for ENG-654 and ENG-655, continues with the
independent study plan, which includes extensive assignments of original writing. ENG-655 is not a required
course but is an elective students may take to work on a project or to work in another area of concentration.
Students submit other assignments throughout the course, including evaluations and an updated student
curriculum vitae.
