EDU-213: Foundations of Education
3 credit hours/Field Experiences Required
Provides an introductory understanding of the historical, philosophical, and social foundations of education; major litigation and policy; emergence of teaching as a profession; governance and reform in Kentucky schools; family structures and circumstances and their impact on learning, society and education; and expectations for teachers (knowledge, skills and dispositions). This course will include at least one writing assignment that requires peer review and a minimum of two drafts.
