RIZE

Spalding University is a member of the RIZE course-sharing network, which facilitates online course sharing among institutions that have similar curricular goals and academic quality standards. RIZE provides opportunities for Spalding students to enroll in other member institutions' online courses.

Courses taken through the RIZE course sharing network are transcribed as Spalding courses, and charges for these courses appear on students’ Spalding accounts, simplifying procedures as compared to standard transfer courses. Spalding reserves the right to determine acceptability for credit of courses taken at other institutions.

RIZE Eligibility

Students may fulfill major course requirements for a degree at Spalding through RIZE registration if the student has declared a major in one of the degree programs offered in collaboration with RIZE or if the Dean approves a petition by the student.  Typically, RIZE courses may not be used to fulfill University Studies course requirements.

More information about the degree programs that incorporate courses through RIZE is available in the University Catalog and on Spalding’s website.

RIZE Course Registration Approval

RIZE registration requires the approval of the student’s Academic Advisor/Faculty Advisor. Students who wish to take courses under this program must consult with their Academic Advisor/Faculty Advisor on the process of how to secure course approval and enrollment.

RIZE Course Drop/Refunds

When a student enrolls in a course offered through RIZE, the student agrees to pay the course fee(s). If the student drops the course before the final drop day of the Teaching Institution, i.e. the college or university teaching the course (not Spalding University), the student will not be billed for the course. It is the student’s responsibility to research and know the Teaching Institution’s drop period dates.
