HS-420: Interprofessional Collaboration
3 credit hours
In this course, the focus moves from the individual professional to a collective approach for the promotion of health. The goal of the course is to teach students the importance of a client-centered interprofessional model for healthcare delivery in which individual practitioners collaborate as members of a team each inserting their role and perspective. Students examine the benefits of an interprofessional approach for clients, focusing on how this approach can lead to improved outcomes. Professional challenges and institutional barriers will also be explored by using design thinking to identify solutions.
