PSY-808: The Psychology of Death and Dying and Other Late-Life Issues
3 credit hours
Preparation for working with issues connected to end of life care, including palliative care, hospice care, and grief work for patients and patient caregivers. Emphasis will be placed on clinical application of evidence-based interventions, including interpersonal therapy, reminiscence therapy, and life-review work. Didactic focus will also include an exploration of terminal disease processes, ethics around quality of life concerns, and developmental theories appropriate for later adulthood.
