NURS-526: Informatics and the Principles of Evidence Based Practice

3 credit hours
This course helps the student integrate information sciences to manage and communicate data, information knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. In this course, information literacy, the use of computers in health care, and the utilization of the electronic health record are explored. This course also reviews types of evidence to support practice. The student will learn mechanisms for the application of evidence to practice situations. Discussion of best practices and how these are determined will be discussed.
