NURS-385: Population Health

4 credit hours

This course focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, and health education needs of aggregates within these populations across the lifespan. Barriers to health accessibility, availability, and affordability are explored for these populations. Levels of health policy and political, economic, and global influences are included as part of the community analysis related to population
health. Students will learn use of the nursing process with a collaborative approach throughout the course. A structured clinical experience introduces the learner to the role of a registered nurse in various community settings. The learner will be placed into community settings that will allow for growth and development in the professional role.
