EDD-922: Dissertation Seminar 3: Dissertation Final Edit and Defense Executive Summary Preparation and Presentation
The student completes final dissertation edits, proofreads the dissertation and during the face-to-face component of the class, which occurs in this course after the eight weeks of online instruction, presents the dissertation in final written form and defends the dissertation to his or her dissertation committee members, program instructors and cohort members in an oral presentation accompanied by digital media. During the defense, the researcher provides answers to the research questions posed in the study, links the findings to relevant research, discusses implications of the findings, indicates strengths and limitations of the study and makes recommendations for future research. In addition, prior to the face-to-face instructional component of this course, the student writes, proofreads and delivers-in conjunction with conducting an oral presentation for the organization on which the student's dissertation and executive summary are based-an executive summary of his or her research findings.
