NURS-472: Population Centered Care

4 credit hours

This course explores the demands of the dynamic health care system that require nurses to have an understanding of both community health nursing and population-focused practice. Nurses must be able to span systems of care and focus on the needs of aggregates, no matter where health care services are provided and/or needed. This course further explores population-focused decision making, community-based strategies for health promotion and disease prevention, primary care services, and disaster prevention and planning which are emerging issues at the forefront of healthcare services.
