COM-303: Sports Media Communication
3 credit hours
This course looks critically at the historical, political, economic and social impacts of sports in the media. We discuss the economic forces that drive and influence sports and sport media. Additionally, the course discusses the media representations of different individuals, identities, and communities involved in sports. Students are asked to reflect on their own relationship to sport and to media, as well as on the influence of sports within the university setting. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
