ART-162: Illustration I

3 credit hours

You like cartoons, you like comics, you like drawings and have been drawing since you were a kid. Illustration is about creating stories through visual media. Illustration is drawing with an aim to communicate a direct message whether it’s a story with characters OR a client’s points about a product. You will gain an awareness of the various professional paths an illustrator may take. This class touches on the complexity of client-based work which requires artists to create within the set parameters of a specific project and respond to feedback, all the while incorporating their own artistic vision. Illustration uses all the skills you’ve developed as an artist and maker and uses both analog and digital tools to combine and use them. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
