ART-271: Material and Process

3 credit hours

A hands-on introduction to wood, metal and leather working, utilizing the makers spaces, and studying shop safety and best practices. Students will experiment in each medium through small projects, with the end goal of a deeper investigation of two materials combined for the final. Emphasis will be placed on inquisition, experimentation and willingness to take risks in the making of the work.

Prerequisites: ART-109ART-119, or permission of the instructor
