SS-101: Humans and the Environment: Disciplinary Perspectives

3 credit hours

This course is an introduction to the disciplines of Liberal Studies and the practice of interdisciplinarity in academic research and analysis with a focus on humans’ relationships to their social and natural environments. Students are introduced to the disciplinary perspectives of anthropology, creative writing, history, linguistics, literature, religious studies, philosophy, and/or psychology, and also learn the importance of crossing disciplinary borders to investigate and produce solutions to critical and complex issues related to the environment. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
