NURS-641: Child and Adolescent Primary Care Nursing

Presents the necessary knowledge for the practice of primary health care of infants, children, and adolescents. It includes principles of health promotion and disease prevention. Pathophysiology, diagnosis, therapeutic nursing interventions, and management of common health problems are presented for this population. Emphasis is on the importance of the family in the delivery of primary care services. This course focuses on the impact of culture and economic deprivation on health care behaviors relating to children and adolescents.
