ART-285: Mindful Practice

This class cultivates a greater understanding of Mind, Body, and Spirit through the mindful practice of art. Students will be given self-driven art assignments that ignite a sense of wonder while encouraging a healthy and well-balanced life. A brief introduction to various mindfulness practices accompanied by a variety of art practices will foster ways of being creative and present. We will explore a broad range of artists that use many different strategies to make art. Our in-class readings, discussions, and other activities are designed to help make us aware of our larger world while also bringing us to a clearer consciousness of our art and ourselves. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
