ENG-260: Practicum Literary Mag Operation

3 credit hours

This course introduces students to the world of literary magazines and journals. Students will experience running an online literary magazine (soliciting submissions, editing, promoting, running contests, etc), organizing a literary reading to support the magazine and submitting their own work to literary magazines and journals. Emphasis will be placed on cultivating a voice for the literary magazine and being intentional about the voices elevated by the literary magazine. Only students who have completed the course can serve in a specific role for the undergraduate literary magazine (editor, sub-editor, head of marketing, etc).

Prerequisites: ENG-109, ENG-110, Recommendation by professor and acceptance by the Creative Writing BFA director. Open to non-majors. This course can be used to fulfill University Studies requirements
