NURS-692: Research and Evidence Based Practice 1

This course is essential to the Master of Science in Nursing curriculum. The dynamic nature of the healthcare environment of today demands knowledgeable registered nurses to implement evidence based practice in all patient care venues. To meet that demand, this course focuses on examination of evidence-based practices by reviewing the qualitative and quantitative research process as well as statistical analysis methods with an attention to ethical aspects of scholarly inquiry. Attention is given to research’s contributions to the development of nursing knowledge and improvement of nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on critical examination and analysis of current research and nursing literature in order to identify and disseminate best practices for use in advanced nursing practice.
