3 credit hours/Field Experiences Required

Provides an introduction to children's literature, both historical and contemporary. Major genres, authors, illustrators and trends in children's literature are studied. Focus is on print and non-print materials for use with children from preschool through grade 5, on presentation strategies, and on activities that extend the reading transaction.
