AAS-302: Color Complex of Black Women

This course will examine influences of phenotypes, body image, inter-gender relationships, media, and social norms within Black communities on the development of Black female identity. Sociological, psychological, and deconstruction theories will be applied in the analyses of these issues, as well as theories on the formation of race. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
