HIST-284: History of Women and Gender in the United States Since 1865

This course examines the experiences of women and transformations in gender norms as lenses to explore the history of the United States from Reconstruction to the present. Through primary and secondary research and readings, students will examine how the intersectionality of gender, race, class, region, and ethnicity have shaped the way women experienced and interacted with political, economic, legal, and cultural forces. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
