This course provides an introduction to techniques for clinical interviewing as well as treatment planning. A focus of the course will be on rapport-building, structured diagnostic interviews, case formulation, and the skills, strategies, and self-awareness necessary to provide basic helping interventions. The course involves specification of helping skills and strategies and their conceptual bases.
