Field Seminar II | Spalding University Catalog

SW-623: Field Seminar II

1 credit hour
This course allows the learner to integrate social work theory with practice. The seminar provides a forum for the learners to evaluate their own practice performance through consideration of issues of personal and professional ethics and values, practice realities with diverse populations, and develop and test new theories and skills in practice. Particular emphasis is placed on learners understanding their role as agency-based practitioners. Exploration of the processes of critical thinking and reflective practice is an important element of the seminar. Assignments include both structured learning activities and active participation in the seminar discussions, including giving and receiving feedback. SW 623 is taken concurrently with SW 622: Practicum II.

Prerequisite: Admission to MSW Program.
