HIST-205: Black Legacy Series
Courses in the Black Legacy Series cover a variety of themes in historical inquiry and are offered on an occasional basis. Topics for these courses include the legacy of various leaders in the Black community. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriett Tubman, Ida. B. Wells, Tupac Shakur, along with leaders in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the Black Panther Party for Self Defense are some of the individuals that will be on display in courses within this series. Students will get a chance to investigate areas of each leader’s legacy, such as their personal histories, achievements, movies/documentaries about them, and peer/critic assessments of them. May be repeated provided subject matter is different. (Meets University Studies Requirement for Social Sciences)
