SW-347: It Takes a Village: Understanding the Human Journey within Families and Communities

This course examines evidence-based theories and concepts that explain human dynamics in large systems such as groups, neighborhoods, organizations, communities, and society. Emphasis is placed on the way individuals shape and are shaped by these environments. This course critically examines human behavior in mezzo- and macro-level environments from diverse perspectives and integrates social work values, ethics, theories, and concepts with practice applications. Open to non-social work majors.
