ART-235: Drawing
3 credit hours
Building on the observational skills from Drawing I, this course will explore drawing as a contemporary approach. In addition to classroom demonstrations, students will be introduced to contemporary artists who push the medium of drawing beyond the traditional using material choice to support conceptual intent. Topics covered in this course will include: abstracting from nature, drawing as narrative, mark as purpose, imagination, the figure and working in a series. Students will explore the use of mark making, color, collage and composition as they solidify a more in-depth understanding of what drawing can be. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
