ART-395: The Digital Image through the Analog Mechanical Process

This course focuses on the exploration and combination of digital and analog traditions in photography and printmaking. The fundamentals of black and white wet photography and light sensitive printmaking processes will be combined with digital techniques in the University Makerspace to create hybrid and novel works. Through creative output, in-class demonstrations and discussions a common technical and aesthetic vocabulary will be established. During the course students will read about and discuss the evolving idea of the photograph, the print, and use of the multiple.
Prerequisites: ART-145 or permission of the instructor
