CHEM-306: Introduction to Biochemistry

3 credit hours
Biochemistry is concerned with the application of the principles of chemistry to the study of biological systems. This survey course introduces the student to the chemistry of the four major types of biological macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids); enzymes, coenzymes, and vitamins and their relation to biochemical energetics are discussed as well.
