ART-284: Spatial Investigations in Drawing and Painting

Artists from different times and different cultures depict space in drawings and paintings in many ways. Renaissance perspective is only one system that has been used. Through lectures and demonstrations, this course will introduce students to alternative ways of representing space within the realm of painting and drawing. Creating works in the studio as well as referencing the landscape will allow students to explore new ways of seeing color, form, & Atmosphere. Using a range of materials along with scale see your paintings and drawings break new ground. Emphasis will be on students finding their own relationship to pictorial space. This course can be used to satisfy University Studies requirements.
